Even before you are pregnant and especially while you are pregnant your health should be your number one focus! Growing a baby will be taxing on your body so following these tips can help cause a little less impact on your body.
Number 1: Which is my favorite- is drink LOTS of water! Your body will need the extra water for the baby’s amniotic fluid and during your pregnancy, you have an increased amount of blood which the water will help circulate nutrients through your body to the baby- so staying hydrated is super important.
Number 2: Keep up your exercise routine. If you were active prior to being pregnant, in most cases it is perfectly fine to keep it up. Exercising when pregnant will help your circulation, induce better sleep at night, and can even help during labor. If you were not active prior to being pregnant you will want to consult your doctor’s advice to come up with a good plan tailored for you.
Number 3: My least favorite tip is to always listen to your body! If you are excited and feel lightheaded do push yourself so hard. If you just have a gut feeling that something is off during your pregnancy whether it be pain or just a strange feeling there is nothing wrong with consulting your doctor. After all, your body goes through a lot of changes during this time so keeping in tune with the new normal is key.
Being pregnant is such a miraculous adventure. Taking care of yourself is the utmost important thing you can do for yourself and your baby. It is not the time to start a new eating or exercise routine but it is 1000% the time to practice self-care, put good things into your body and keep moving. Before you know it your new little addition will be here!
