Baby is here and you’re adjusting to a new body, trying to wear things that are nursing-friendly, and also want to be comfortable and stylish. You don’t need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, focus on a couple of key pieces that were our must-haves!
The key to a postpartum wardrobe is neutral pieces that are all versatile with each other. Think Capsule Wardrobe! First, get a few pairs of comfy but cute PJs or loungewear. You’re going wear them day after day so, you want them to be comfortable but also it doesn’t hurt if they look cute so you can feel a little more “put together” when family and friends are visiting baby. Secondly, head to Old Navy and grab a couple of pairs of high-waisted jeggings or leggings in solid colors. The high waist will help hold your postpartum tummy in and solid colors will help take the thought out of putting an outfit together. Lastly, tanks and teeshirts are breastfeeding-friendly as well as cardigans. Cardigans are the best because you can put them on top of leggings and a tee and suddenly you have an “outfit” respectable for running errands or going to the doctor’s office.
You can add pizazz by tossing on a cute pair of earrings, a headband, or a scarf by keeping all of your colors solid and neutral. Dressing postpartum doesn’t have to be stressful and the old saying fake it till you make it is real- so if you look good you will feel good! After all, you are still adjusting to a baby, your new body, and routines. Keep it simple moms, you got this!
