Whether your kids are in school or at home, life seems busier than ever. I feel like most women are the master multi-taskers but it can still be difficult to get everything done daily. Instead of throwing your hand up and quitting, we can come up with three key tips to help alleviate the pressures of life.
The number one task I can recommend is to meal plan every week! This truly helps take the guesswork out of what’s for dinner, kids’ snacks, and lunches. We like to do this every weekend. There are definitely some staple meals we have on repeat each week but I also like to throw in a couple of new options so meals don’t feel so mundane. (Love me some Pinterest!) We have found that by planning a grocery list and meals for the week, we are not only saving time but money as we don’t walk around aimlessly around the grocery store grabbing what sounds good at the moment. Grocery pick-up has been a game changer for us. I order everything I need online and then pick it up the next day. Love this because there are no upcharges for this service for instance like insta-cart.
Secondly- do your laundry daily! Whether you have a family of 6 or 3, keeping up with laundry daily will make your life a lot less overwhelming. Personally, I hate this task, so instead of letting it build up and having mountains of it staring at me in the face every weekend, it seems more manageable to run smaller cycles throughout the week.
Lastly, implement a two-minute rule. If you see something around the house that can be cleaned or spruced up within two minutes- just do it! Most small tasks can be overlooked and will be built up. We all can find two minutes in our day to quickly, clean a toilet, a window, or even dust or vacuum a room. This will help free up some time to tackle all these chores at once.
We all can struggle with everything life gives us on a daily basis, we hope our three tips above can help free up a bit of time for YOU time. After all, the saying is true- happy wife/mom- happy life! What are your favorite tips?
